ELSEVIER Critical Care COVID-19 CE Informational Modules: California

The Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) has contracted with Elsevier to provide California non-ICU registered nurses (RN) with up to two days of Continuing Education covering important information about critically ill COVID-19 patients.

Training Objective: Prepare non-ICU experienced RNs to assist experienced ICU RNs in some aspects of nursing care for critical COVID-19 patients.
Earnable Credits: 10 Core Credits, Optional: Up to 16 Additional Credits.

This optional knowledge-based program is not a substitute for the standard critical care education, training and/or certification programs.

Requirement: Must be currently providing nursing care to hospitalized patients (e. g., medical or surgical patients).

 

 

Register for Access

1. Visit the Elsevier Login Page, found here.
2. Select the Self-Registration link (Fig. 1).
3. Complete the registration form and attest to your status as a registered nurse (RN) in the state of California.
4. Click the Register button to successfully create your user profile.
5. Login with your new user credentials to access the User Agreement page.
6. Accept the user agreement to complete the registration process

Complete Your Assignments

To participate in your COVID-19 Training you will need
to self-enroll for each course1.  Navigate to the eLearning menu and select self-enrollment (Fig. 2)

2.  Enroll in COVID courses listed by clicking the enroll link next to each course’s title and lesson count.

Note: COVID Day 2 is an optional course which provides additional CE credit

3.  Review all assigned lessons to complete your training and earn certification
credit (Fig. 3).
