Paramedic Disciplinary Review Board Members
Appointments to the Paramedic Disciplinary Review Board (PDRB) are subject to the requirements of Health and Safety Code section 1797.125.01. PDRB is composed of one physician specializing in emergency medicine, four field paramedics, and two public members. Members are generally appointed for four-year terms and may not serve more than two consecutive terms. Appointments are made by the Governor, the Senate Rules Committee, and the Speaker of the Assembly.

* Health and Safety Code section 1797.125.01, subd. (c) provides that PDRB appointments (except for the Governor’s initial appointments) are for four-year terms expiring June 1, and further specifies that vacancies are “filled by appointment to the unexpired term.” Additionally, Government Code section 1302 requires that officers whose term has expired continue to discharge the duties of their office until their successor has qualified.
